Magellan was my ancestor and I was raised to believe he was a hero who discovered a lot of things and places. Except those places had long ago been discovered by the people who lived there, and raised families there, and worked that land. In 1521, Magellan landed in the Philippines and finally discovered something. He discovered what it was like to die with shit in his pants. Fuck a colonizer.
